World-renowned musicians offer all-Beethoven program on BMC Night Beat

Update: Cellist Colin Carr and pianist Thomas Sauer played a technically masterful and emotionally profound performance of most of Beethoven’s compositions for cello and piano. They received standing ovations before the intermission and again at the conclusion of the concert. This was a very special experience. And the post-concert reception was lots of fun too!

In 2020, the world is celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven, the creative genius whose music continues to inspire and enrich the lives of people all over the globe.

The Bellingham Music Club’s guests, world-renowned cellist Colin Carr and pianist Thomas Sauer, take us on a journey of joyful virtuosity. Their all-Beethoven program features three sonatas for cello and piano, plus variations on themes by Haydn and Mozart, including Papageno’s buoyant aria from The Magic Flute.

This special Beethoven Night Beat is on Saturday, February 15, 7:30pm at First Congregational Church, 2401 Cornwall Ave., in Bellingham. Refreshments follow the concert. (Yes, we will have a cake in honor of Ludwig!) $25 tickets are available at Village Books, online, and at the door. Take a teen for free. Free also for WWU and WCC students.
