The BMC encourages the growth and development of music appreciation and performance in the community.”  (Mission statement)

The BMC offers a series of nine concerts open to the public and free of charge, on the first Wednesday of the month from September through June except January. Concerts are one-hour long (10:30 – 11:30 am). You can find performance dates and details on the 2015-2016 Season page. Please click here to see archived newsletters and programs.

Why the Bellingham Music Club?
The Bellingham Music Club concerts feature local and regional professional musicians. They are the best in the area! Many of them are members of the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra and Western Washington Faculty, all established musicians. This special Centennial Season brings back to Bellingham some of our own award winners: Pianist Susan Tang, Violist Jeremy Berry, and Pianist Jeremy Deschane.

Every musician starts somewhere
We know that pursuing excellence in music is hard work, and takes much determination and dedication on the part of students. We believe in helping young musicians grow and flourish, and invite the BMC award winners to perform for our audience. The February concert features winners of our high school piano and voice competitions; March features the winners of the two high school orchestral instruments competitions, and in April, we applaud the winners of our university-level competition.

Cost?
No cost at all! The BMC is not your ordinary club! Wednesday morning concerts are always free and open to the public – no membership required! Guests are most welcome; come as you are and enjoy our concerts.  Still, we have a basket where you can just throw a few bucks if you want to support our student awards!
