March Offerings

Wednesday, March 4, 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran: Concert features high school winners of the Nicholas Bussard Instrumental Awards (Glenna McGarity, flute, Nikole Ziehe, alto saxophone, and Alex Mumford, oboe) and the Ethel Crook String Awards (Maya Enstad, cello, Ian Aegerter, violin, and Hannah Schoepe, violin). Free admission. Everyone is welcome!

Thursday, March 5, 7:30 pm: Percussionist extraordinaire Kay Reilly returns for a Night Beat recital at First Congregational Church, 2401 Cornwall in Bellingham.     After a sold-out concert last fall, Kay Reilly comes back for a “percussion fest” of works for the marimba, hand drums, snare drum, and various instruments that will take you across continents, decades and genres! Kay’s versatile program includes Charleston, Ragtime, Japanese, South American and East Indian music plus works by J.S. Bach and Steve Reich. On Sunday, March 22, 3 pm at Trinity Lutheran, the BMC presents its third annual Young Musicians of Whatcom County benefit concert. It is a unique opportunity to hear young piano, string and wind musicians at various stages of their musical development. Students will perform solos and small and large ensemble pieces. Admission by donation; all proceeds will help fund the BMC high school Awards.
