kuuskmann 2Grammy nominated, world-famous bassoonist Martin Kuuskmann with WWU professor, pianist Jeffrey Gilliam, play in concert to benefit BMC Student Competitions on Thursday, November 5, 7:30 pm, at First Congregational Church, 1314 Cornwall Ave.
The program includes: James Waterson Souvenir de Donizetti, Tõnu Kõrvits Sololoqui for solo bassoon, Arvo Pärt Spiegel im Spiegel, Schumann Fantasiestücke, Scriabin Vers la flamme, Op. 72 (for piano) and Camille Saint-Saëns Sonata for bassoon and piano.
This fundraiser will help the BMC support young musicians of Whatcom County at the high-school level (four separate competitions in piano, voice, strings and other instruments) in addition to WWU. In all, the BMC grants over $5,000 annually to local students who demonstrate talent, perseverance, and fine musicianship.
