Our 2021-2022 season – “Play On!” – will bring live music back into our lives, with free daytime performances by acclaimed musicians, September through June! After a long absence, we are proud to again present musical events for you! For everyone’s safety, we are requiring audience members to be vaccinated (bring your card), as well as wear a mask. Be sure to mark your calendar and join us at the concert!
SEPTEMBER: We “return to LIVE MUSIC” on Wednesday morning, September 8, with the lively Celtic string duo, violinist Cayley Schmid and cellist Clea Johnson! That’s two days AFTER Labor Day. Yes, we are back in our musical home, Trinity Lutheran Church, at 119 Texas Street in Bellingham. All daytime concerts are at 10:30am.
OCTOBER: We meet on FRIDAY morning, October 8, to enjoy the oboe artistry of Bhavani Kotha, whose repertoire and performances have garnered glowing reviews internationally.
NOVEMBER: On November 3, we are back to our Wednesday matinees, to joyfully reunite with Grant Donnellan, the violinist whose local leadership roles have included WWU professor, Bellingham Festival of Music performer, former Concertmaster of the Bellingham Symphony, and “Mr. Beethoven” in the Bellingham schools primary grades!
DECEMBER: Wednesday, December 1, we will enjoy historical instrumental pairings, performed by Anna Marsh, bassoon and dulcian, and Henry Lebedinsky, Renaissance keyboard. With their music, we will welcome December’s season of peace and togetherness.
FEBRUARY-APRIL: We showcase and celebrate our incredible Student Awards Competitions winners each month.
MAY: We resume our guest artist concerts on Wednesday, May 4, with the renowned concert and recording artist, and WWU faculty member, pianist Milica Jelača Jovanović.
JUNE: We close our daytime program season on Wednesday, June 1, with the effervescent and eclectic duo of Edwin Huizinga, violin, and Elliot Figg, harpsichord. Expect the unexpected!
(And on top of all that – we are working to schedule a special engagement with the remarkable Rastrelli Cello Quartet!)
