Organist Dr. Kirsten Santos Rutschman takes us on a whirlwind tour of Europe in conclusion of our Concerts à la Carte season!
A Bellingham native, Dr. Kirsten Santos Rutschman currently plays the four-manual, 5,206-pipe Austin Organ at Wayne Presbyterian Church, PA, where she is the full-time Interim Director of Music. Kirsten holds degrees from Duke University, Linköping University (Sweden), and Stanford University. She has played historic pipe organs in Italy, Germany and Sweden. She also completed Fulbright-supported musicology research in Sweden.
Her musical travelogue will begin in Vaughan Williams’ Britain, move through Grieg’s Norway, stop at the Royal Palace in Sweden, pay homage to Brahms’ Vienna and conclude with Bach.
Join us on Wednesday, June 7, 10:30am, and Friday, June 9, 7:30pm at First Congregational Church, 2401 Cornwall Ave. in Bellingham. Matinees are always free; they are BMC’s gift to the community! No ticket purchase required for Night Beat. Students are free. We suggest a $20 donation for others.
