It is our pleasure to announce the winners of our 2022 BMC High School Competitions for Piano and Strings!
In the Piano Competition in honor of Nancy Bussard, our first place winner is Annika Jonson, followed by Penelope Keep, Miriam Alexa Garcia Jimenez, and Eligh Nichols.
First place winner of the String Competition in honor of Ethel Crook is Adrian Kelly, violin; followed by Genevieve Blum, viola; Avi Lindner, cello; and Liam Connor, viola.
To share these students’ winning performances with you, we are delighted to resume our in-person matinee programs! Come and enjoy our competition showcase on Wednesday, March 2, 10:30am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 119 Texas Street in Bellingham. Expect outstanding performances by the top winners in each category, with piano works by Chopin, Scriabin, Rachmaninoff and Liszt, and pieces for string instruments by Sibelius, Handel and von Weber.
The Wednesday, March 2, matinee program is free and open to all. For a while longer, BMC will require that all attendees wear a mask and show proof of vaccination. Thank you for working with us!
