A bit more about our upcoming season!

We are delighted to invite you to “Elevate Your Spirit” with BMC’s extraordinary 2025-2026 season – possbily the best one BMC has ever produced!!! Program Committee members are so proud of our outstanding roster of professional musicians! All are at work preparing uplifting and inspiring performances! Curiosity, optimism, and sincerity informs and guides their offerings. Here’s a preview of all the good things we have in store for you this year!

In September, the curtain rises on Bellissima Brass – an all-women quintet presenting an all-women composers program for horn, trumpet, tuba and trombone. Michelle Rockwood, Karolyn Labes, Shelly Devlin, Amy Kavanagh, and Emma Eliason play Gwyneth Walker, Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, Barbara York, and Florence Price.

In October, we have the immense pleasure of bringing back Rebecca and Gabriel Mañalac for “Echoes and Departures” – a rich program of music for two pianos by composers from home and abroad, featuring Rachmaninoff, Ravel, and more!

Soprano Heather Dudenbostel headlines a vocal extravaganza in November with baritone Mark Davies and pianist Emily Gantt. We will thrill to art song, Broadway tunes and grand opera! From dramatic to cheerful, this will be a glamorous and rousing recital!

Our December matinee brings cellist Samantha Sinai and Seattle-based pianist Michelle Huang together to perform the ravishingly beautiful Rachmaninoff Cello Sonata and other romantic works. Mark your calendar!

After the winter break, violinist Grant Donnellan presents the fifth and last installment of his wildly appreciated musical travelogue series. His thoughtful selections and commentaries always broaden our perspective on history and culture. A must!!!

And we will conclude our season with the Global Dimension Ensemble lead by percussionist Patrick Roulet. Past and present WWU students will join him to present music from Ghana, Uganda, Mexico and Korea – all performed on traditional instruments.

Thanks to our Program Committee who put the season together, these unique experiences all add up to a superb line-up that is guaranteed to “Elevate Your Spirit!” The joy we feel while planning these concerts can only be matched by your applause! Join us in making them all a success!

Because of generous renewed membership support so far this summer, we can continue offering great performances to all. Again, our eminent evening concert series, Night Beat, will not require a ticket purchase – for those with the means, we suggest a $20 donation at the door. Regardless, all will be welcome to enjoy the beautiful music performed by stellar artists – and students are always free!

Thank you again for keeping music thriving in our community, and ensuring that BMC enriches lives with the gift of music!
